The stories of strength and resilience I hear from so many of you make clear that our shared experiences have brought us closer together. I’m proud to be a part of this fantastic group. The My 28 Days® team has worked tirelessly to find new solutions, and their work is yielding promising results. I’m so grateful for their dedication to our mission.
May 2023 marks a 50-year milestone for me. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in May 1973. So much has changed! Now we can build a global digital care and research platform to improve care and research for girls and women with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI). We can bring this impossible dream to reality! I am sharing an exciting collaborative opportunity regarding our group.
In some ways, 2023 has brought me to the pinnacle of my career at age 75. The Office on Women’s Health of the U.S. Government has assigned me to be a Women’s Health Ambassador. Its mission is to provide national leadership and coordination to improve the health of women and girls through policy, education, and innovative programs. Their effort includes:
● Empowering women and girls to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
● Educating women and girls about preventative health measures and promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
● Ensuring women have access to comprehensive and quality healthcare services.
● Addressing health disparities among women.
● Promoting gender equity in healthcare.
The Office on Women’s Health collaboration provides an excellent opportunity to get thought leaders involved in our My 28 Days® initiative. Thought leaders bring numerous benefits. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience in their respective fields, which can help shape the initiative’s direction and strategy. They can also lend credibility and legitimacy to the enterprise, as their involvement signals that it is worth investing in and supporting. Additionally, thought leaders can provide valuable insights and perspectives that may need to be added to the effort, helping to broaden the initiative’s scope and impact. Overall, involving thought leaders can help ensure the success and effectiveness of the My 28 Days® initiative.
When getting thought leaders engaged in an initiative, it’s essential to consider what will motivate them to participate. One approach highlights the initiative’s potential impact and how their involvement can contribute to positive change. Another strategy is to emphasize the unique expertise and perspective they bring to the table and how their involvement can enhance the initiative’s overall success. Finally, building relationships and fostering open communication can go a long way in getting thought leaders on board and invested in the enterprise.
As always, I encourage you to reach out to each other for support and to share any updates or news you may have. Our community is most vigorous when we work together, and I know we can achieve great things.
Thank you all for your continued support and dedication to our cause. Together, we can make a difference and improve the lives of those affected by POI.
